KO’OLAU MOUNTAIN DOODLES

ABOUT US
At Ko’olau Mountain Doodles we pride ourselves in being ethical and responsible Dog Breeders. Our breeding goal is to produce dogs that will become the best family companions. We do our best to ensure that every puppy we produce meets our high quality standard for health and temperament. We have fallen in love with Bernedoodles and our goal is to bring their loving and loyal personalities to people and families across the Hawaiian Islands.
Our puppies are born and raised our home, a loving and enriching environment. Our puppies are exposed to many experiences which allows them to become well-rounded and highly tolerant dogs.
Our parents have been thoroughly health and temperament tested to ensure that all puppies have great genetics and a solid structure to give them a long and healthy life.
We follow the Puppy Culture Program. The first 8 weeks of a puppy’s life are extremely important. We adopted this program that was put together by professionals who are top of their fields in puppy development and dog training.
Please feel free to ask questions. We are always happy to help educate people as they began the journey of adding a new furry family member to their forever home.
Why Ko’olau Mountain
Doodles?
1. We are an open book. We do not hide our home or where our puppies are raised. In an industry full of poor practices and unethical breeding we want to be 100% transparent. Most breeders will not show you where the puppies and parents live. We want to put an end to the epidemic of backyard breeding. Whether you buy a puppy from us or from another breeder please do your due diligence. Ask to see their health testing results including hips, elbows and heart and DNA. Ask to visit and see where the dogs live, make sure they are raised on a puppy curriculum. If a breeder is hiding any of this, do not buy from them. The difference in a well bred dog and a dog from a back yard breeder is substantial. The puppy world is full of poor breeding practices, do your research and you will be forever grateful that you did.

2. We raise our puppies on a detailed and complex puppy curriculum. Your puppy will go home with a jump start on training. They will be well socialized and ready to take on the world. The first 8 weeks determine the rest of the dogs life and we work hard to make sure that your dog will have the foundation needed to reach their full potential.

3. We do extensive health testing on all of our parents. We test their hips through OFA and PennHip. We test their elbows, patellas and heart through OFA. All of their DNA has been tested through Embark and Paw Print Genetics. We are very selective when it comes to health and make sure all of our parents are passing down great genetics.

4. All of our puppies come with a 3 year health guarantee so that you have peace of mind knowing your puppy will be healthy and well.

5. Before you pick your puppy they will have extensive temperament testing done. That way you will have an idea of who your dog is before picking them.

6. All of our dogs come microchipped and with their first round of vaccines. You will get a go-home packet full of things to make the transition smooth. You will also receive a copy of your puppy’s wellness exam done by the vet.

7. We are constantly learning and educating ourselves in order to improve and become better. We want to be the best breeder in Hawaii. Buying a dog is a big investment, but we promise that you will not be disappointed in one of our dogs. They are the highest quality dogs that you can find. They will be well rounded, adaptable, healthily and have great temperaments.

8. We treat our parents like Queens and Kings. They are our priority and we make sure that they are living their best lives.

9. You will have life long breeder support. We will be there for you for the totality of your dogs life. If you ever have questions or need advice we are always a great resource.

10. We want to help educate people about the flaws in the “adopt don’t shop” movement. Most people are not in a situation where they can adopt a dog from a shelter. When you adopt, there is not way of knowing the dogs full history. You give up knowing things like age, trainability, health history, reactivity, triggers, how they are with kids, how they are with other dogs, predictability and the list goes on and on. Adopting a dog is great, but its not for everyone. You should never be ashamed for spending money to get a well bred, high quality dog. We do not contribute to the amount of dogs in animal shelters, we will gladly take back any dog that is needing to be rehomed. In fact, we have a strict no-rehoming policy in our purchase agreement. We do not want any of the dogs we produce to end up in a shelter.
